Riverside Christian Elementary School
Welcome to Riverside Christian Elementary School! RCS offers students a solid Biblical and academic foundation as well as a variety of extra-curricular activities, and day care before and after school.
At present, there are four sections of kindergarten and three classes of each grade, first through sixth. Most of these classes are closed for new students shortly after open registration has begun, so parents are encouraged to register their children early to ensure a seat for fall entrance.
Our elementary curriculum is strongly grounded in the A Beka, Bob Jones Press, and ACSI principles of consistent practice of factual material, and presentation of new material building upon the previous year's foundation of learning. Specifically, the curriculum is broken down into the following grades:
- Kindergarten - all material is A Beka based, except for Bible which uses Bob Jones curriculum.
- First grade - all subjects are A Beka based, except for Bible which uses Bob Jones curriculum.
- Second grade - all subjects are A Beka based, except for Bible which uses Bob Jones curriculum.
- Third grade - all subjects are A Beka based except Spelling which utilizes ACSI, and for Bible which uses Bob Jones curriculum.
- Fourth grade - all subjects are A Beka based, except Spelling which utilizes ACS,I and Bible which uses Bob Jones curriculum. California History is the historical foundation for this grade level.
- Fifth grade - all subjects are A Beka based, except Spelling which utilizes ACSI, and Bible which uses Bob Jones curriculum. Old World History is the historical foundation for this grade level.
- Sixth grade - all subjects are A Beka based, except Spelling which utilizes ACSI, and Bible which uses Bob Jones curriculum. New World History is the historical foundation for this grade level.
Students are motivated and encouraged through our music program - elementary choir and band. Mrs. Joy DeWoody and Mrs. Danielle Brown are the inspiration behind these programs. To lift the Lord's name up in song and worship is truly one of our greatest blessings at school.
Elementary athletic teams such as soccer, basketball and softball are designed with the attitude of good sportsmanship and the focus of physical endurance.
If the opportunity arises for your child to receive after school care, we are well equipped to meet your child's needs such as a place to complete homework, get a snack, interact with friends and simply unwind from the day. Our day care staff is loving and attentive to the requests of your child when a full day's work has been accomplished.
