
PRESCHOOL
CURRICULUM
The following is our standard curriculum, which we utilize to accomplish
our stated goals:

- Prayers - (student & teacher) morning, mealtime, special needs;
- Stories - Bible, animal, nursery rhymes;
- Pledges - American flag, Christian flag, and the Bible;
- Reading readiness - matching, recognizing differences and sequences,
letters and sounds, left to right activities, recognizing and printing
their names;
- Number facts - calendar, clock, counting, shapes, one to one relationships,
games, reassuring;
- Manipulative skills - (small muscle/eye-hand coordination) blocks,
stringing beads, pegboards, puzzles, textures, shapes;
- Large muscle skills - climbing, running, jumping, riding, balancing,
throwing, group exercises;
- Science - plants, seeds, weather, seasons, insects, pets, cooking,
nature walks and discoveries;
- Creative art exploration - names of colors, pasting, finger, brush
and sponge painting, coloring, play dough and clay, cutting;
- Music - singing, (guitar, records & tapes) rhythm instruments,
marching, music interpretation and expression (ribbons, dolls, balloons,
scarfs, sheets);
- Health facts - cleanliness, nutrition, rest, exercise, teeth and
hair care;
- Character development - taking turns, sharing, helpfulness, obedience,
kindness, responsibility, honesty, neatness;
- Language art expression - show-and-tell, child story telling, finger
play, question and answer activities, dramatic plays, activities of
family life, pretend expressions.
Variety,
organization by age group, and topics of interest all add to daily learning
experiences, and are geared toward individual maturation levels.
