In
all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your
partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident
of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion
until the day of Christ Jesus.

WELCOME
Riverside
Christian Preschool (RCPS) would like to take this opportunity to welcome
you to the Riverside Christian Schools (RCS) family. As a part of that
family, Riverside Christian Preschool is often a parent's (and a child's)
first introduction to Christian education.
RCPS
believes that our preschool is an extension of the home, particularly
in our objectives to provide a loving environment and to train up
children "in the way they should go." For this reason, we
invite parents to communicate often with the RCPS teachers and director.
RCPS has served the greater Riverside area and the Inland Empire since
1985, and we look forward to an outstanding experience together with
you and your children.
OUR
PHILOSOPHY
A child's
early years are his most important. We at Riverside Christian Preschool
endeavor to make certain that the hours a child spends here are productive
toward the formation of his whole being and personality. Our carefully
balanced program is designed to foster spiritual, mental, social, and
physical development of each child enrolled. While we are dedicated to
maintaining a professional staff, the best of facilities, and a Biblically-oriented
academic curriculum, we believe that it is the loving, caring, Christian
adults whose love for the Lord shows in their interactions with children
that makes the greatest impact on a child.
Riverside
Christian Preschool offers a half day and a full day program. The half
day child is in the program from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The full day
program is from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or any hours between. The program
begins in the morning at 8:30 a.m. with pledges, prayers, and Bible
time. Next, we have outdoor play, followed by circle time and centers.
This is where our monthly themes and concepts are introduced and implemented
through songs, stories, dramatic play, arts and crafts, cutting and
writing. In the 3-year-old class we have a developmental program in
which the children are encouraged to exercise their motor and social
skills. The 4-year-old classroom is designed to prepare your child for
Kindergarten. All classes are dedicated to always keeping Christ first.
RCPS
provides a teaching environment with a day care center. We maintain
an enriched learning program and day care program, both of which are
Christ-centered.
RCPS
is the first stop on the road to a comprehensive Christian education
at Riverside Christian Schools. It is the school system's hope and design
that children will be able to continue their schooling at RCS, receiving
a rich and complete Christian education from preschool through high
school, preparing them to live adult lifestyles that will honor Jesus
Christ and make a difference for eternity.
OUR
APPROACH
Each
child needs to develop spiritually, emotionally, intellectually, socially,
and physically. To encourage this, we provide an appropriate, integrated,
emotionally experiential education program. Our developmentally appropriate
program is characterized by materials and activities that acknowledge
children as active individual learners, and recognize each individual
child as a special gift from God.
OUR
GOALS
- In
a loving and caring environment, we hope to encourage each child to
develop at his own unique pace. These are the goals we set for each
child in our program:
- 1.
Spiritual: To help the child develop a love of God; to teach that
Jesus is God's Son and loves him; to teach the Bible as the Word of
God; to instill a love for others.
- 2.
Emotional: To develop a positive attitude of self-worth, a
feeling of competence and a satisfaction in the mastery of new skills;
to help the child's sense of responsibility and self-control.
- 3.
Intellectual: To stimulate curiosity, creativity and imagination;
to involve a child in a basic educational program which includes science,
social studies, letters, numbers, reading readiness, music, art and
plays; to prepare a child for eventual entrance into Kindergarten.
- 4.
Social: To provide an environment that fosters a sense of security;
to encourage helpfulness and courtesy; to help a child feel accepted
by his teacher and peers; to promote sharing with others; to develop
independent living skills.
- 5.
Physical: To provide for the health, safety and well-being
of the child; to emphasize proper play techniques; to develop large
and small muscles; to promote good health habits.
